“My husband had recently asked for a divorce after a 20 year marriage. To say I was devastated would be an understatement. I was struggling emotionally and still crying daily eight months after the divorce. My best friend had a friend who was certified by The Grief Recovery Institute. Her friend recommended I pursue grief counseling and find someone certified by The Grief Recovery Institute. I was referred to George by my former daughter-in-law, who spoke very highly of him. She said he had helped her immensely to recover from an extremely deceptive marriage and difficult divorce. George is amazing. He is compassionate and empathetic, and easy to relate to. I felt very comfortable to be completely transparent with him and felt very supported as he guided me through the program. I honestly believe the counseling is his gift from God and that he was put on this earth to help people heal. I have been to many counselors throughout my life and feel he excels in assisting people recover and reclaim their lives, to move forward and live free and productive lives. He explained why I subconsciously kept selecting mates that, it turned out, were very similar to my Mother. He helped me discover areas in my relationship with my Mother where I needed to apologize that I would not have identified on my own. He suggested I deal with my very difficult relationship with my deceased Mother before trying to tackle the pain of the divorce, to establish a firm foundation for recovery. I feel that decision helped me release memories that were extremely painful. I think it also helped me see similarities in behavior patterns I carried into all my other relationships. Writing my Letter of Completion to my ex-husband was heart rending and very painful. However, I now feel free to move forward and discover whatever my future holds with hope and expectancy. I do not have words to adequately convey my appreciation to George and for what he has helped me achieve; he is very special.”
